The Skills Development and Entrepreneurship Department of the Government of Punjab is hiring an Assistant Manager (Backend Developer) for its Lahore office on contract. The role focuses on the server-side systems behind the department's province-wide skills training platforms, keeping data and services reliable, secure and scalable. The selected candidate will design back-end architecture, optimise databases and support the digital systems used across the department. This is a full-time, on-site contract position in Lahore with a lump-sum monthly salary of Rs 145,000.
What we're looking for:
- 16 years of education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, ICT, Software Engineering, Economics or Engineering from an HEC-recognised institution
- Sound knowledge of back-end architecture and server-side development
- Experience with database design, optimisation and management
- Understanding of application security and scalable system design
- Maximum age 40 years as per the advertisement
- Ability to work on-site in Lahore on a full-time contract basis
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
- Design and build back-end services and APIs for the department's digital platforms
- Optimise databases and queries for performance and reliability
- Apply security best practices across back-end systems and data handling
- Design scalable system architecture that can grow with province-wide usage
- Work with front-end developers to integrate services smoothly into web and mobile apps
- Monitor, troubleshoot and improve existing back-end systems
