Your safety
Stay safe from job scams
Fake recruiters are the single biggest problem facing job seekers in Pakistan. This page explains exactly what a scam looks like, what we check before a listing appears on Jobswala, and what to do if something feels wrong.
Jobswala is free for job seekers, always. No employer on this platform is permitted to charge you anything — not a registration fee, not a training fee, not a deposit. If one asks, they are breaking our rules. Report them.
Six signs an offer is fake
If you recognise even one of these, stop and check the company before you share anything else.
They ask you for money
Registration fees, 'file processing' charges, security deposits, training fees, uniform deposits, medical charges. A real employer in Pakistan pays you — you never pay them to be hired.
The offer arrives before the interview
An appointment letter on WhatsApp for a job you never applied to, or a 'selection' the same day you sent your CV, is almost always fake.
The salary is far above the market
PKR 150,000 for an entry-level data entry role is not a lucky break. Compare against our salary guide before you believe a number.
They will only talk on WhatsApp
A registered company has an office number and a company email domain. Be careful if every conversation stays on a personal mobile number.
They want your CNIC copy or bank details early
There is no reason to send a CNIC scan, ATM card details or an OTP before you have signed a contract at a verified office.
Pressure to decide immediately
'Only two seats left, confirm today.' Urgency is the oldest tool for stopping you from checking the company properly.
What we check before a job goes live
- Business registration verified against SECP or NTN records
- Contact number called and confirmed before the first listing goes live
- Physical office check for high-volume hiring centres
- Listings that demand candidate payment are removed and the employer banned
- Salary figures must be a range the employer will actually honour
Verification reduces risk — it does not remove it entirely. Always meet at a real office address, and never hand over money or original documents.
Report a suspicious listing
Every listing page has a report link. Tell us the job title, the company name and what they asked you for. We investigate within one working day and remove the employer permanently if the report is confirmed.
If you have already lost money, report it to the FIA Cyber Crime Wing at nr3c.gov.pk as well as to us.
