GSK Pakistan is looking for an Assistant Manager – Taxation to join its Karachi office. The person in this role will take charge of the company's direct and indirect tax work, making sure every statutory filing and compliance obligation is delivered accurately and on time. The job covers tax filings and reconciliations, support during audits, transfer pricing documentation, global tax reporting, and day-to-day tax advice to the business. It is a good fit for a tax professional who knows Pakistani tax law well and can also work comfortably within a global company's tax governance framework.
What we're looking for:
- Professional accounting qualification such as CA, ACCA or an equivalent credential
- Solid working knowledge of Pakistani tax regulations covering both direct and indirect taxes
- Prior experience in a tax function, ideally within a large or multinational organisation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with careful attention to detail
- Good communication skills for dealing with tax authorities, advisors and internal stakeholders
- Ability to manage deadlines and multiple compliance obligations in a fast-paced setting
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
- Handle direct and indirect tax matters for GSK Pakistan, including corporate income tax, withholding tax, sales tax and payroll-related taxes
- Prepare, review and file tax returns and other statutory documents within the required deadlines
- Support tax audits and assessments, preparing responses and liaising with tax authorities and external advisors
- Maintain transfer pricing documentation and contribute to global tax reporting requirements
- Reconcile tax accounts and keep clean balance sheet reconciliations in line with company policy
- Give practical tax guidance to business teams and uphold strong tax governance and internal controls
