MG Motors Pakistan is hiring a taxation professional for its finance team in Lahore. The person will own the company's tax compliance end to end, from filing statutory returns and withholding statements to handling notices from the tax authorities and coordinating with external auditors. The role also covers tax work linked to vehicle imports and local buying, plus keeping up with FBR's digital sales tax invoicing rules. It calls for an ACMA or ACCA with four to six years of hands-on corporate tax experience, solid Excel and SAP familiarity, and the judgement to keep filings accurate and on time. What we're looking for:
- ACMA, ACCA or a relevant degree in accounting, finance or taxation.
- 4 to 6 years of professional experience in corporate taxation; automobile sector experience preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of tax laws, statutory filing and corporate tax compliance procedures.
- Hands-on experience with tax returns, withholding tax, reconciliations and tax audits.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with SAP.
- Analytical ability, attention to detail and clear communication with departments and tax authorities.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
- Handle tax notices from the authorities, draft responses and keep proper records of all correspondence.
- Prepare and file statutory tax returns within the set deadlines, making sure they are accurate and compliant.
- Prepare and submit withholding tax statements, and check deductions and records for errors.
- Carry out monthly and annual tax reconciliations and clear differences through adjustments and coordination.
- Work with external auditors on tax matters and answer their queries.
- Process tax applications for imports and local procurement, and manage digital sales tax invoicing under FBR requirements.
- Watch for changes in tax law and rates and assess what they mean for the business.
