Salary: PKR Negotiable
Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR), working under the Ministry of Science and Technology, is looking for a Legal Consultant to support its legal work in Karachi and Peshawar. The role covers civil, taxation, corporate, company and banking law matters, including cases before the High Court and the Supreme Court. This is a contract appointment for an initial period of twelve months, extendable on satisfactory performance, offered on a negotiable lump-sum package. What we're looking for:
- Minimum LLB degree from a recognised institution
- At least 25 years of legal experience, including practice in the High Court and Supreme Court
- Strong background in civil, taxation, corporate, company and banking law
- Previous experience as a legal consultant, adviser or counsel in a public sector organisation or a reputable private sector organisation will be preferred
- Maximum age 60 years
- Higher qualification and an excellent academic record will be preferred
- Candidates with a third division in their academic record will not be considered
- Those already in government service should apply through the proper channel
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
- Advise the Council on civil, taxation, corporate, company and banking law matters
- Handle legal work before the High Court and the Supreme Court
- Provide legal counsel and advisory support to the Council's management on institutional matters
- Review and advise on legal documents, agreements and correspondence as required
- Support the Council in legal proceedings and represent its interests in coordination with relevant forums
- Guide the organisation on compliance with applicable laws and regulations
