EY is hiring a Manager for its Global Compliance and Reporting (GCR) team in Karachi, part of the firm's MENA tax practice. The role involves leading client engagements that cover tax compliance, statutory accounting, financial reporting and tax accounting across the region. The successful candidate will run a team of tax professionals, manage large-scale projects end to end, and build strong relationships with clients and colleagues across EY's regional network. It suits someone with deep tax technical knowledge and proven experience leading teams in a professional services environment.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, taxation or a related field with strong academics
- Professional qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CTA or ADIT, and/or a master's degree
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, ideally within a large professional services firm
- Strong background in corporate tax, tax compliance, tax accounting and tax auditing
- Proven record of managing teams, projects and multinational clients in a multicultural environment
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP and financial reporting standards is an advantage
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
- Lead a team delivering tax compliance, statutory accounting and reporting services to clients across the MENA region
- Manage the day-to-day running of large client engagements, tracking progress, deliverables and timelines
- Build and strengthen relationships with clients and internal teams to ensure consistently high-quality service
- Put standard processes in place, spot risks early, resolve issues and drive performance improvements
- Coach and counsel junior team members, fostering a positive learning culture
- Ensure all work follows EY's tax quality guidelines and manage engagement economics and contracts
