The posted base salary range is $220,000 to $292,000 per year (USD), plus equity and benefits; final offers depend on experience and location. What we're looking for:
- 8+ years building and operating production distributed systems, or equivalent server-side experience
- Production experience with a major cloud provider and Kubernetes, with infrastructure-as-code as the default
- Experience carrying a pager, commanding incidents, and rolling back before understanding why
- Use SLOs and error budgets as operating tools
- Have owned an architecture or migration from planning through launch
- Can find important unowned work, scope it, earn buy-in, and deliver without being handed a plan
- Leverage AI agents to multiply impact, thinking critically about how and when to use them
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
- Own the platform: GCP, Kubernetes, Temporal, the GPU fleet behind cloud export, and deploy/rollback machinery
- Build and run GPU capacity, training and inference pipelines, and the reliability and cost of serving systems
- Treat cost as an engineering constraint and make smart infrastructure trade-offs
- Own security for the systems you run: identity and access, secrets management, least-privilege boundaries, supply-chain integrity
- Write self-explanatory infrastructure-as-code, runbooks, and in-repo context
- Improve how the team learns and ships: instrument work, release incrementally, read results honestly
- Provide architectural direction, thoughtful reviews, and mentoring
